Abstract

Warehouse productivity is a critical determinant of operational efficiency in packaging manufacturing companies, particularly in highly competitive industrial regions such as Tangerang Regency. Despite its strategic importance, limited empirical research has examined how work discipline and work motivation jointly shape productivity in logistics-intensive warehouse environments. This study investigates the effects of work discipline and work motivation on employee productivity in the warehouse division of a packaging company in Tangerang Regency using a quantitative research design. Data were collected from all 35 warehouse employees through an online questionnaire based on a five-point Likert scale, employing a saturated sampling technique. The instruments were tested for validity and reliability, and the data were analyzed using SPSS through normality testing, partial correlation, coefficient of determination, multiple linear regression, and hypothesis testing (t-test and F-test). The results reveal that work motivation has a significant positive effect on employee productivity, whereas work discipline exhibits a positive but statistically non-significant effect at the 5% level. However, both variables simultaneously exert a significant influence on productivity, explaining 45.7% of its variance. These findings suggest that motivation plays a more dominant role than discipline in enhancing warehouse performance. The study contributes to organizational behavior literature by providing context-specific evidence from an underexplored packaging warehouse setting in Indonesia. Managerially, the study recommends integrating motivational strategies with fair disciplinary systems to improve employee engagement and operational productivity.
